My dear friends,


               The year 2003 has been a very important, I would say fondamental year for us, since we promote the culture to welcome especially those Abruzzesi who decide to come back to their land, but also those foreigners who come to Italy to work and integrate.

                The efforts that we took have been largelly repaid by many satisfactions, first of all your affection and your feeling near the noumerous initiatives organized during the last months.

                I remember, for example, the commitment – with a positive ending – to include in the Regional Constitution the right to vote for foreign immigrants, the beautiful initiatives in Pineto such as Festa degli Abruzzese nel mondo, the festivities in Chieti and Navelli, that is a beloved town for the President of our Region Giovanni Pace. These initiatives, have had a growing interest and enthusiasm on the part the public opinion and the press.

                I’m thinking of the many tangible actions such as the funds granted by Regione Abruzzo for the purchase and the restructuring of houses for those emigrants who decided to come back, and many solidarity initiatives, with money commitments, in favour of our fellow-countrymen in Argentina, who are struggling because of the dramatic economic crisis in that country.

                We also have to remember the growing contacts with our communities in the world, the more and more organic exchange associations and schools. For example the convention signed with the Canadian school “Columbus Center” in Toronto.
                Therefore, we can say that the year 2003 has been a very positive that will work as an incentive to do better end better in the future.

                I am convinced that an important incentive and qualified contribution to our work will come from this Internet site, with your proposals that will be a precious fund of experiences for all of us.
